I'm open to suggestions of other brands/kits or accessories that would allow me to get the Makita bare tool and fill out the kit, or to kits from other brands that have good values and good quality. In addition, the Rigid JobMax system seems intriguing as it seems to have attachments to fill many roles. This Bosch Set is probably the front runner at this point: I would much prefer to go with the Makita version that includes all the accessories and the bag, but it also includes a battery and charger and a $325 price tag (ouch). It is brushless, seems powerful and comes with a full set of accessories. ![]() Through some clever deal hunting I have been able to upgrade to Makita tools for almost the same price. ![]() In this vein, I originally picked up a Ryobi 6 piece power tool set, but realized that the tools themselves were lower end quality. I view this as an investment, so I want good quality, but I need a good value for my money. Doesn't even come with a sanding pad attachment.Īs with any new homeowner, price is deff an issue. It has a cutting blade but not much else. The thing that has kept me from pulling the trigger is that I am extremely under-whelmed by what is included in the Makita bare tool. I have a set of Makita Power tools, and I have plenty of home depot store credit to get the bare tool Makita multi tool. Thing is, I'm a little lost with what brand to go with. I'd likely use it for some basic cutting, sanding and other similar tasks. In doing some basic home repairs, I realized that an oscillating multi-tool would be a very welcome addition to my collection. So, as a new homeowner, I have been working on my power tools collection. No Amazon affiliate links (they'll be removed by the Automod). No posts promoting crowdfunding projects.
